A native of Italy, Father Bruno Segatta has practiced the study and mastery of art since earning his degree from Northridge University in 1982. In the autumn of that year, Father "Bruno" began his tenure at Gonzaga University in Florence, Italy as Assistant to the Dean of Student Affairs. Here he instructed painting, drawing, design and the licate techniques of fresco. Inspired by his surroundings, he specializes in portraying the City of Florence and Tuscany landscpaes utilizing an abstract style with emphasis on color and line. All of Father Bruno's works are for the betterment of those around him, near and far. The paintings he creates are sold to Alumni and parents. The revenue generated is used for student life in Florence and also donated to the Niambani House for Kids orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya; a place of comfort for children stricken with AIDS. Following a three-month bus trip through Central-Africa and Madagascar in early 2006, Father Bruno participated in the Oratorio, a 15-day event held in Portofino, Italy. His 9'x18' rendition fresco of Ghirlandio's "The Last Supper" is on display in the church of San Girgio in the seaside town of Porofino. In the late summer of 2007 he was commissioned to conduct a weekend seminar at La Rustacana D'Orsa Winery in Los Gatos, Ca., the weekend retreat of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Marilyn D'Orsa. In attendance were 15 fellow artists learning his method in acrylic landscapes.
